  2. 2

    Measure the total length

Measure each straight run and add them up.

  3. 3

    Count corners, ends and gates

Each one needs a heavier post. Note how wide each gate opening should be.

  4. 4

    Note the slope

Steep ground changes how panels sit and how many posts you need.

  5. 5

    Pick the height and style

Check your city and HOA rules before you choose.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot

How many posts and panels do I need for 100 feet of fence?

With standard 8 foot panels, a straight 100 foot run takes 13 panels and 14 posts. Every corner, end and gate adds posts, so count those separately or send us your layout.

Do I have to call before I dig post holes?

Yes. Missouri law requires a locate request before you dig. Call 811 or file online with Missouri One Call at least two working days ahead, and wait for the lines to be marked.

How deep should fence posts go?

A common rule is about a third of the post's height in the ground, and below the frost line. Gate and corner posts take the most load, so go deeper and heavier there.

Do you sell chain link gates and privacy fence panels?

Yes. We sell the same materials we install, including chain link walk gates and drive gates and wood and vinyl privacy fence panels. Call (573) 680-0410 with the sizes you need and we will check what we have and help with the rest of your list.
